There are a number of styles of baby sun hats that have some sort of peak or bill, a stiff projection at the front, that shades the child’s eyes from the sun. Perhaps the most popular of these is the baseball cap. Worn by people of all ages, it was originally used for the sport of baseball but is now worn all over the world as a casual hat. It is recognizable by it’s firm, usual curved peak, whilst the rest of the hat fits snugly to the head.

This casual hat was originally seen at the turn of the century, typical on newspaper boys, hence the name newsboy cap. It generally has a round, puffy body with a button on top and come in a variety of fabrics.
